A small nearby community asked us to help them design a new City Hall. the 7,600 sf building will include a community center and all the The outdoor courtyard gives the residents a place for meeting and celebrating. A focus on design and security gives the sense of safety and welcoming neighbors.

Chic buildings

An undeveloped former warehouse/industrial 1920’s building and a large property allowed a developer and ourselves to conceive a renovation condominium and new construction apartment building in Peoria’s Warehouse District. The project is currently under construction and will be completed in 2025.

Illini Central District #189

This is a geographically large rural district with a small enrollment and a single school building for elementary, middle and high schoolers with many construction needs. Workshops at three key locations allowed us to gather the important issues at hand and build additions and remodeled areas specific to the students needs.

Growing Smiles

As a repeat client, our firm was able to help a growing young dentist renovate a second building for her practice. Keeping young patients and their parents at ease while having a bit of fun with the space was our direction.

IBEW #34

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers local #34 asked us to create a distinctive new home for their union hall. Completed near the end of 2020.

Prairie Gardens Scattering Garden

Prairie Gardens is a contemplative garden inside historic Springdale Cemetery for scattering of human cremated remains.

Blessed Sacrament Catholic Grade School

The Blessed Sacrament parish in Morton Illinois has completed phase one and two of our master plan project. It includes a $5.2 million dollar expansion of the pre-k and kindergarten rooms. Phase one included a new entry and administration, commons/kitchen and gymnasium.

East Peoria Central Junior High

This project is a 3 story, 72,000 square foot addition for 900 6, 7 and 8th graders and is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2015.

East Peoria High School

By expanding this school with classrooms and a commons/ cafeteria and remodel older space for the Fine Arts, our firm gave the community a reason to be proud of its new facilities. The renovation of the existing cafeteria offered an opportunity to create loft industrial space to the creative arts it housed.

Parkland College Fitness Instruction Space

This Champaign Illinois college had a facility need for both athletic training and instructional facilities for personal trainers and Kinesiology. The facility was conceived as an addition to the existing gymnasium which allowed the under utilized lower level to be renovated into lockers, classrooms and trainers rooms.

Study Gallery

pcm + design takes pride in unlocking the potential of each project. "design matters" has become a mantra as we help our clients visualize, create and realize their vision. these are just a few studies that often take just a few hours to explore the creative options of a project.

Rolling Acres

Rolling Acres Middle School needed a distinct space for a cafeteria and kitchen to redirect lunchtime traffic from the Gym floor. The flexible cafeteria - multipurpose space and courtyard gave the district more than they expected and exactly what they needed.

East Peoria City Hall

This 9,000 square foot City Hall is the second phase of the Civic Complex in the new Levee District in East Peoria IL. It was completed in Spring of 2016.

Experience- Fitness and Recreation

Our staff has decades of valuable experience while working at other firms. This gallery shows you a sampling of the breadth of our experience in K-12 and Higher Education projects while working with other firms.

Roosevelt Grade School

By flipping the locations of the Cafeteria and Fine Arts wing we were able to locate the cafeteria on the ground floor thus connecting it to trash and delivery services as well as playground areas for the students.

Streets of St. Charles

While working with the Developer, we were tasked with revising the New Urbanism concept developed by Duany Plater-zyberk to conform to the developers planned users. Our firm was also the project architects and designers of the Residences at the Streets of St. Charles. It was a 200 unit mixed use apartment building and parking structure completed in 2009.

PCM + Design also acted as the master planner for the area named the "Levee District". A phase two City Hall was built in 2015-16.

Roanoke Community Center

DESIGN MATTERS!

Rolling Acres

Peoria Public Schools needed different solutions to the same problem at Rolling Acres and Calvin Coolidge grade schools. Here at Rolling Acres, a new cafeteria/ multipurpose room freed the gymnasium for physical education and paved the way for a remodeling with new bleachers and a wood gym floor. The placement of the cafeteria on the site allowed immediate access to the after lunch playground and an outdoor lunch courtyard during fair weather.

Calvin Coolidge

This Peoria District 150 turn-of-the-century school needed a budget friendly gymnasium that could solve accessibility concerns and evening/ weekend use while fitting in with the older school and neighborhood.

Limestone Monroe

As district architects, pcm + Design has performed a number of projects for Monroe including a remodeled gym floor and bleacher along with Health, Life and Safety upgrades. Most recently, we completed a secure entry vestibule addition depicted here.
