A small nearby community asked us to help them design a new City Hall. the 7,600 sf building will include a community center and all the The outdoor courtyard gives the residents a place for meeting and celebrating. A focus on design and security gives the sense of safety and welcoming neighbors.
An undeveloped former warehouse/industrial 1920’s building and a large property allowed a developer and ourselves to conceive a renovation condominium and new construction apartment building in Peoria’s Warehouse District. The project is currently under construction and will be completed in 2025.
This is a geographically large rural district with a small enrollment and a single school building for elementary, middle and high schoolers with many construction needs. Workshops at three key locations allowed us to gather the important issues at hand and build additions and remodeled areas specific to the students needs.
As a repeat client, our firm was able to help a growing young dentist renovate a second building for her practice. Keeping young patients and their parents at ease while having a bit of fun with the space was our direction.
The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers local #34 asked us to create a distinctive new home for their union hall. Completed near the end of 2020.
Prairie Gardens is a contemplative garden inside historic Springdale Cemetery for scattering of human cremated remains.
The Blessed Sacrament parish in Morton Illinois has completed phase one and two of our master plan project. It includes a $5.2 million dollar expansion of the pre-k and kindergarten rooms. Phase one included a new entry and administration, commons/kitchen and gymnasium.
PCM + Design used the tenants' corporate template to design and renovate the 9th and 10th floors of the historic Central Building in Peoria IL for their Peoria Headquarters.
This project is a 3 story, 72,000 square foot addition for 900 6, 7 and 8th graders and is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2015.
By expanding this school with classrooms and a commons/ cafeteria and remodel older space for the Fine Arts, our firm gave the community a reason to be proud of its new facilities. The renovation of the existing cafeteria offered an opportunity to create loft industrial space to the creative arts it housed.
This Champaign Illinois college had a facility need for both athletic training and instructional facilities for personal trainers and Kinesiology. The facility was conceived as an addition to the existing gymnasium which allowed the under utilized lower level to be renovated into lockers, classrooms and trainers rooms.

Rolling Acres Middle School needed a distinct space for a cafeteria and kitchen to redirect lunchtime traffic from the Gym floor. The flexible cafeteria - multipurpose space and courtyard gave the district more than they expected and exactly what they needed.
This 9,000 square foot City Hall is the second phase of the Civic Complex in the new Levee District in East Peoria IL. It was completed in Spring of 2016.

By flipping the locations of the Cafeteria and Fine Arts wing we were able to locate the cafeteria on the ground floor thus connecting it to trash and delivery services as well as playground areas for the students.
pcm + design architects were the master planners for this mixed use development in St. Charles, Missouri. While working with the Developer, we were tasked with revising the New Urbanism concept developed by Duany Plater-zyberk to conform to the developers planned users. Our firm was also the project architects and designers of the Residences at the Streets of St. Charles. It was a 200 unit mixed use apartment building and parking structure completed in 2009.
The City of East Peoria and Fondulac Library executed an inter-governmental agreement to build a phase one Civic Complex and Library on a former brownfield factory site in the heart of the community. PCM + Design also acted as the master planner for the area named the "Levee District". A phase two City Hall was built in 2015-16.
The Roanoke Community Center is currently in a fund raising phase to build a community facility designed to reinvigorate a small village's downtown core. The project will include Village Hall offices, the American Legion, 250 person banquet and 200 person auditorium spaces.
The Illinois Association of School Boards has an annual design award competition. Our firm and our client was fortunate enough to win the sole Award of Merit in the State of Illinois for Excellence in Educational Environments!
DESIGN MATTERS!
Peoria Public Schools needed different solutions to the same problem at Rolling Acres and Calvin Coolidge grade schools. Here at Rolling Acres, a new cafeteria/ multipurpose room freed the gymnasium for physical education and paved the way for a remodeling with new bleachers and a wood gym floor. The placement of the cafeteria on the site allowed immediate access to the after lunch playground and an outdoor lunch courtyard during fair weather.
This Peoria District 150 turn-of-the-century school needed a budget friendly gymnasium that could solve accessibility concerns and evening/ weekend use while fitting in with the older school and neighborhood.
As district architects, pcm + Design has performed a number of projects for Monroe including a remodeled gym floor and bleacher along with Health, Life and Safety upgrades. Most recently, we completed a secure entry vestibule addition depicted here.
